Goal of the Project

The AI-Powered Inbound Receiving Assistance project is designed to simplify, accelerate, and improve warehouse receiving operations by allowing users to complete complex inbound tasks through natural-language chat instructions. Instead of manually navigating through multiple records, product rows, inventory locations, bins, batches, and serial number fields, warehouse users can interact with the AI assistant using simple instructions. The system understands the request, identifies the correct inbound data, presents valid inventory options, and applies updates directly to the receiving screen. The main goal is to reduce repetitive manual work, minimize unnecessary clicks, improve receiving accuracy, and help warehouse users complete inbound transactions faster. The solution is especially useful when receiving multiple products, serialized items, batch-controlled products, or large quantities of inventory.

Current Situation

Currently, warehouse users must complete several manual steps before an inbound receiving transaction can be finalized. Users first need to search for the correct inbound logistics record using information such as the Purchase Order number, vendor, barcode, or logistics record name. After finding the correct record, users must manually select the required product line, assign inventory locations, choose storage bins, select batch or lot numbers, verify stock details, and provide serial numbers for serialized products. When several products are received at the same time, these activities become repetitive and time-consuming. Manual processing can also result in incorrect product selection, invalid inventory assignments, duplicate serial numbers, quantity mismatches, incomplete receiving information, and delays when users are unfamiliar with the process.

Planned Features and Improvements

Conversational Inbound Management: The AI allows warehouse users to search for inbound records and select receiving products directly through the chat. It can locate records using a Purchase Order number, vendor name, product barcode, or logistics record name. Once the record is identified, the AI retrieves the related products and helps the user select the correct receiving line using product details such as the product name, product code, barcode, or line reference. The selected row is then prepared for inventory assignment, batch selection, or serial number entry.
Intelligent Inventory Assignment: The AI retrieves available inventory locations and displays valid storage options for the selected product. Once a location is selected, the system retrieves the bins associated with that location and product. For batch-controlled or lot-controlled products, the AI can also retrieve batch and lot details, including stock quantities, expiry dates, inventory locations, and storage bins. Users can assign the required location, bin, batch, or lot directly through the chat, and the AI updates the correct receiving row after validating the selected values.
Smart Serial Number Automation: The AI helps users manage serialized products without manually entering every serial number. It identifies the receiving quantity, determines how many serial numbers are required, and generates them using configured naming patterns, sequences, prefixes, or business rules. Before assigning the generated serials, the system checks existing serial number records. If a duplicate is found, it is skipped and a new serial number is generated until the required number of unique serials is reached. This helps prevent duplicate values, missing serial numbers, incorrect formats, typing mistakes, and quantity mismatches.
Receiving Validation: Before finalizing any update, the AI validates the selected inbound record, product line, receiving quantity, inventory location, storage bin, batch or lot information, and serial numbers. For batch-controlled products, it validates the batch or lot, available stock, expiry information, and product relationship. For serialized products, it validates the serial count, duplicate serials, existing records, serial format, and the relationship between the product and serial numbers. If any required information is missing or invalid, the AI prevents the update and identifies what must be corrected. Only after all validations pass does the system update the selected receiving rows.
Context-Aware AI User Guidance: The AI assistant also provides built-in guidance for the complete Inbound Receive Logistics and Receive Inbound process. Users can ask for help with channel and distribution site selection, record searching, account filtering, barcode scanning, product receiving, location and bin assignment, batch handling, serial number entry, quality-check activities, and other receiving operations. Guidance is displayed through clear, step-by-step cards inside the chat, allowing users to move through each step without leaving the receiving screen. When a user is stuck, the AI explains the next required action. For scanning activities, it can guide users through preparing and using a physical scanner, selecting the correct scan-enabled field, processing scanned information, and resolving unrecognized or unmatched barcodes. This acts as context-aware documentation and reduces dependency on separate manuals or support teams.

The AI-Powered Inbound Receiving Assistance solution is not limited to answering questions or displaying instructions. It understands the active inbound context and performs real operations directly on the receiving screen. The AI can search inbound logistics records, identify matching records, display inbound products, select the correct receiving row, retrieve inventory locations and bins, display available batches and lots, show stock and expiry information, assign inventory values, generate serial numbers, detect duplicates, validate quantities, update receiving lines, and provide step-by-step user guidance. This creates an action-oriented AI assistant that connects with active Salesforce and inventory data, applies business rules, validates transactions, updates the screen, and supports users when assistance is required.

The AI-Powered Inbound Receiving Assistance functionality is currently active and available within the Inbound Receive Logistics and Receive Inbound screens. Warehouse users can use the AI chat to search records, select products, review inventory options, manage batch and serial information, validate receiving data, update inbound records, and access contextual guidance.

Current Situation Currently, users can create multiple different invoices against a single order, providing flexibility in billing. However, the ability to consolidate multiple orders into a single invoice is not yet implemented, though it’s under development as part of this product’s goal.
Planned Features and Improvements Here are some suggested enhancements to improve the Single Invoice against Multiple Orders product:
Order Selection Filters: Add filters (e.g., date range, order status, product type) to easily select relevant orders for consolidation.
Automated Consolidation: Enable automatic grouping of pending orders for the same customer into a single invoice based on predefined rules (e.g., billing cycle).
Partial Invoicing Option: Allow users to include only specific line items from selected orders, offering flexibility in billing.
Invoice Preview: Provide a preview of the consolidated invoice before finalizing, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
Payment Tracking: Link the single invoice to multiple orders for payment reconciliation, showing which orders are paid or pending.

Availability Implementation of the *Single Invoice against Multiple Orders* product is in progress and will be fully operational in a future release. The current ability to create multiple invoices per order will be complemented by this consolidation feature upon completion.

Currently, booking a service appointment can involve disjointed systems and manual coordination. Dispatchers and customers may struggle to know exactly when a technician is available, whether a location falls within the supported service area, or if a technician possesses the specific skills required for the job. This manual overhead increases the risk of double-booking, routing errors, and scheduling delays.

Planned Features and Improvements
Unified Multi-Step Booking WizardIntroduce a guided, step-by-step booking interface designed to handle complex scheduling scenarios effortlessly. The wizard adapts its behavior based on whether the user is an internal employee or an external customer:

Service Selection: Users can search, filter, and select available services, complete with pricing and dynamic requirements.
Customer Management: Internal staff can utilize a quick-search lookup to find existing client records and accounts, while external customers can easily input or verify their contact details.

Intelligent Location & Service Radius Validation To prevent routing failures and capture highly accurate data, the booking flow features an embedded interactive map powered by Leaflet.js and OpenRouteService:

Interactive Pin-Dropping: Users can click the map to pinpoint exact service locations, automatically translating coordinates into formatted addresses (Reverse Geocoding).
Automated Radius Checks: The system instantly validates whether the selected address falls within the allowed service radius for the specific product and resource group, preventing out-of-bounds bookings.

Real-Time Capacity & Skill-Based Routing
The new scheduling engine completely eliminates the risk of double-booking by calculating availability in real-time. Key capabilities include:

Dynamic Time Slots: The calendar instantly factors in technician shifts, lunch breaks, approved time-off, and company holidays before displaying available times.
Expertise Filtering: Users can filter available technicians based on mandatory qualifications, certifications, and specific skill sets required for the selected service.
Concurrency Protection: Built-in race condition guardrails prevent double-booking if two customers attempt to reserve the exact same technician at the exact same time.

Flexible Resource Allocation
Depending on the service configuration, the system supports multiple assignment strategies:

Manual Selection: Customers or dispatchers can view a list of eligible specialists and manually pick their preferred technician.
Auto-Allocation (Load Balancing): For standard services, the system can automatically assign the job to the most appropriate technician based on current workload and capacity, ensuring fair distribution of tasks.

Self-Service Appointment Management
To reduce administrative overhead, the booking screen includes a built-in "Manage Mode."

Customers and dispatchers can look up existing appointments using a booking reference and email.
Users can view full booking summaries, execute one-click cancellations, or seamlessly reschedule the appointment to a new date and time using the same availability engine.

Availability
The implementation of the comprehensive Service Appointment Booking flow is currently rolling out. These features will be available in an upcoming release to dramatically improve scheduling efficiency, eliminate booking conflicts, and enhance the customer experience.

Goal of the Project

The goal of this enhancement is to support outsourced or subcontracted manufacturing operations within the existing Axolt manufacturing flow. This will allow users to identify operations that are performed by external suppliers, track supplier execution, manage outsourced operation scheduling, and evaluate supplier performance based on delivery and quality.

Current Situation

Currently, manufacturing operations are primarily handled through internal process cycles, operations, work centers, stock allocation, work orders, and WIP build/commit flow. Each operation is generally expected to be performed internally through an assigned work center.

There is no clear separation between normal internal operations and outsourced operations. Users cannot currently mark an operation as subcontracted, assign an approved subcontract supplier, view supplier performance during operation setup, or handle subcontracted operations differently in scheduling.

Planned Features and Improvements

The enhancement will introduce a subcontracting classification at product and operation level. A product can be marked as having subcontracting, and individual operations within the same process cycle can be marked as outsourced/subcontracted.

Key improvements include:

Add Has Subcontracting checkbox on Manufacturing Product.
Add Outsourced / Subcontracted Operation checkbox on Operation.
Allow supplier selection when an operation is subcontracted.
Filter supplier lookup to show only valid outsourced operation vendors.
Keep internal and outsourced operations inside the same process cycle.
Update scheduler logic to handle internal operations through work center availability and subcontracted operations through supplier/lead-time logic.
Prevent subcontracted operations from consuming internal work center capacity.
Show supplier performance analysis on the operation screen.
Track supplier delivery performance using planned receipt date vs actual receipt date.
Track supplier quality performance using received, accepted, and rejected quantities.
Show supplier quality score, delivery score, average delay, and top defect reason.
Suggest a better supplier if another approved supplier has stronger delivery and quality performance.

What Makes This Solution Unique

This solution extends the existing Axolt manufacturing flow without creating a separate subcontracting process. Internal and outsourced operations can exist within the same process cycle, preserving the actual manufacturing sequence.

The system will not only allow users to assign subcontract suppliers, but will also help users make better supplier decisions by showing historical supplier performance directly during operation creation or editing.

The enhancement provides better visibility into outsourced manufacturing by combining operation planning, supplier selection, scheduling impact, delivery analysis, and quality performance in one connected flow.

Availability

This enhancement will be available for manufacturing products and operations where subcontracting is enabled. It will apply to process cycles that contain one or more outsourced operations.

The supplier performance section will be available only when an operation is marked as subcontracted and a subcontract supplier is selected.

Summary

The outsourced manufacturing enhancement will allow Axolt users to manage subcontracted operations inside the existing manufacturing process. It will help planners distinguish between internal and outsourced work, assign valid suppliers, schedule outsourced operations based on supplier lead time, and evaluate supplier performance using delivery and quality history.

This will improve manufacturing visibility, reduce manual supplier selection errors, and support better decision-making for outsourced operations.

The Service Workbench project aims to provide a centralized interface for managing and scheduling service operations efficiently. It introduces dedicated modules for planning, building, and scheduling work orders (WOs), enabling better visibility of service requests, streamlined resource allocation, and improved coordination between registrations and work orders.

Current Situation

Currently, work order management and scheduling processes require multiple manual steps, and there is limited control over how registrations and work orders interact. Resources can sometimes be double-booked, and multiple work orders may be created for the same registration without restrictions. Additionally, registration validation and synchronization with work orders are not fully enforced.

Service Workbench Modules

Planner

The Planner module provides a view of work orders categorized by their status (e.g., Pending, Scheduled, In Progress, Completed). This allows planners to quickly monitor the progress of service activities and prioritize tasks accordingly.

Builder

The Builder module organizes work orders based on Work Centers (WC). This helps operations teams group and manage service tasks according to their operational units or departments.

Scheduler

The Scheduler module enables efficient scheduling of work orders through the following options:

Schedule Work Order by Service:
Users can schedule a work order by selecting the required service and assigning appropriate resources.
Schedule Work Order from Registration:
Work orders can also be scheduled based on registrations created by external users, enabling a seamless transition from customer request to service execution.

Identified Issues and Improvements

Resource Blocking Conflict

When a resource is already blocked through a registration, the system currently allows the same resource to be scheduled again through a work order.
Improvement: Implement validation to prevent double-booking of resources across registrations and work orders.

Multiple Work Orders for a Single Registration

The system currently allows multiple work orders to be created for the same registration.
Improvement: Introduce restrictions or checks to ensure that only the appropriate number of work orders can be generated for a given registration.

Registration Validation

Registrations currently lack sufficient validation or linkage with work orders.
Improvement: Strengthen the relationship between registrations and work orders to ensure proper tracking, prevent duplication, and maintain data consistency across the service workflow.

Availability

The Service Workbench functionality and related improvements are currently being developed and refined. Enhancements addressing scheduling controls, registration validation, and resource conflict management will be included in upcoming releases.

Currently, when a kit product is involved in an RMA process, the return is typically handled at the kit level. Users do not have the flexibility to return only specific components or line items within the kit, which can create challenges when only part of the kit is damaged, defective, or needs replacement.

Planned Features and Improvements

Line Item Level Return for Kit Products

Enable users to create RMAs for specific line items within a kit product rather than requiring the full kit to be returned. This will allow more precise return handling and better support real-world service scenarios.

Partial Return Flexibility

Provide the ability to select only the affected components of a kit product during the return process. This ensures that unnecessary returns of unaffected items are avoided.

Improved Return Accuracy

Ensure that the RMA process correctly captures which kit components are being returned, helping maintain accurate inventory, replacement, and refund records.

Better Inventory Tracking

Support inventory adjustments at the kit component level, so returned line items can be tracked, restocked, repaired, or replaced individually.

Enhanced User Experience

Simplify the return workflow for users by clearly displaying kit products and their associated line items, making it easier to identify and return only the required items.

Availability

The implementation of RMA for Kit Products with line item return capability is currently in progress. This enhancement will be available in a future release to improve flexibility and efficiency in the return management process.

Current Situation

The current 1GP environment introduces several operational and technical challenges:

Event Booking:
Limited support for complex event workflows (multi-session, location-based rules) due to monolithic code structures.
Appointment Booking:
Rigid slot allocation logic and shared APIs with other modules risk conflicts during high-volume booking periods.
Queue Management:
Dependency chains delay updates to real-time queuing algorithms, reducing efficiency during peak walk-in traffic.
Integration Constraints:
Difficulty syncing schedules across logistics, HR, and ERP systems due to tightly coupled 1GP dependencies.
Manual Deployment:
Booking flows, calendar changes, and customer portal updates require manual rollouts, increasing downtime risk.
