When transactions and ledger live in different systems, finance spends month-end reconciling. Here every statement line opens its ledger account, its journal entries and the record that created it.

-Statements that match the warehouse

Inventory on the balance sheet and stock on the shelves come from the same Salesforce records.

-Drill-down on every account

Open ledger entries with links that open each source record in a new tab.

-Checks built in

Reconciliation checks such as “Assets = Liabilities + Equity” flag a report as Needs review and explain what to correct.

Scope and control

a question.

Turn on AI Functionality to use Axo by chat or voice. Axo opens reports, changes filters, comparisons and views, and explains the figures on screen. Figures always come from the report.

-Ask for a report or comparison

“Balance sheet”, “profit and loss”, “inventory and sales”, “MRR and ARR”, “AR and AP aging”, “previous year”, “same quarter last year”.

-Ask for a period, view or action

Month, quarter or year-to-date; search, sort, expand, cards or list; drill into an account, show issues, refresh, export.

-Prepare with Axo

On the Balance Sheet, Axo can prepare a ledger-link correction for one entry. It is applied only after you click Confirm and apply ledger-link repair.

Is our stock worth what the ledger says?

  1. Open Inventory & Sales › Inventory valuation for a warehouse.
  2. Each record shows its cost source: purchase order, manufacturing order, serial or batch.
  3. Products selling below cost are flagged for a net-realisable-value review.

Why did finished goods cost more this month?

  1. Production Costing › WIP shows open orders and their recorded cost.
  2. Manufacturing variances and Cost of poor quality show where cost moved.
  3. Orders with no recorded cost are named, so they are rolled up before close.

Explore Axo AI
Can you produce a balance sheet in Salesforce?+
Yes, when the general ledger runs natively on Salesforce. Axolt produces the balance sheet from postings created by invoices, payments, purchasing, inventory and manufacturing.
Do I still need a separate accounting system?+
Not for these reports. Axolt includes the general ledger, receivables, payables, bank reconciliation, tax and adjustment entries on Salesforce.
What if a check fails?+
The report is marked Needs review but still shows its figures. Open Review or Checks & notices to see what to correct.
Who can see financial reports?+
Access follows Salesforce permissions and sharing, so people see only the companies, ledgers, accounts and records they can read.
Why are MRR and ARR showing “—”?+
They appear only when Active pricing coverage is 100 %. Complete the missing order-line pricing, then refresh.
What do I need before users open the reports?+
TabsFinancial Reports opens the full application. Account Register opens the register on its own.
Apex accessGrant the Apex class FinancialReportController through a permission set with the tabs.
Data accessReports respect object, field and sharing access.
Fiscal calendarSalesforce fiscal Year periods are required. Comparisons also use Quarter and Month periods and the company’s Accounting Periods.
CurrenciesIn a multi-currency org, every currency in use needs a positive active rate in Setup › Manage Currencies.
PDF exportRequires permission to create Salesforce Files.
Axo AIEach user turns on AI Functionality. Free-text questions need an active AI provider.

Margin at selling price(Average invoiced price − unit cost) ÷ average invoiced price × 100From–To
How does Inventory & Sales value stock?+
Each receipt takes its unit cost from the strongest evidence available:
  • the purchase-order line price for purchased goods;
  • the manufacturing order’s material, labour and overhead cost ÷ order quantity for manufactured goods;
  • the serial or batch cost;
  • the product’s average cost from those sources, for transfers, returns and stock takes;
  • the recorded receipt price, only as a last resort.
Receipts and issues are then replayed with the company’s costing method, FIFO or weighted average. A record without complete cost evidence is listed but not valued, so no value is invented.
Are loan, demo and sample units included in inventory value?+
Yes. Standard, Loan Pool, Demo and Sample stock are valued as separate pools of each stock record. Loaned units stay owned until the loan is converted to a sale or written off.
Which reports use an as-of date and which use a period?+
Statements such as the Income Statement, Trial Balance and Cash Flow use From and To. Balance reports (Balance Sheet, Cash Reserve, AR & AP Aging, Deferred Revenue) use As of = To. From and To must fall inside the selected fiscal year.
How do comparisons work?+
Switch a statement to Comparison to see the baseline, Variance and Variance %. Prior year and Two years prior compare the same span of days in the earlier fiscal year. Prior period uses the latest Accounting Period that ended before To. Prior quarter and Same quarter prior year use fiscal quarters.
Why can’t I compare AR & AP Aging, MRR & ARR or Prepaid Schedule with the past?+
These reports are built on current balances, so historical comparison is not available and the report says so. MRR & ARR would need dated price and status history.
What does “—” mean on a figure?+
The value is not available for this scope, for example no baseline or incomplete pricing. It is never zero. On the Account Register, Opening and Closing show “—” when the account’s master opening is dated after the selected range.
Can I export a report to Excel or PDF?+
Yes. Open the report, click Export / Print and choose Excel workbook (.xlsx) with numeric cells, KPIs and accuracy checks, or PDF report. Each PDF is stored as a Salesforce File named “Financial Report …”, so Files create permission is required. The Account Register has its own Export Excel and Download PDF buttons.
How does currency conversion work?+
A currency marked native, such as GBP · native, shows only records in that currency. “All, converted” converts every record into your user currency with the active rates in Manage Currencies. Every currency in use needs a positive rate. On the Balance Sheet, dated closing rates are used where configured, otherwise current rates.
What does Executive P&L attribute profit to?+
Company P&L uses the Income Statement. Business unit P&L groups posted income and expense entries by the unit recorded on each ledger entry. Posted product P&L uses the product on a linked invoice line; entries without a product stay Unassigned. Sales views use committed order lines and the employee assigned to each order. Sales by unit combines employees in their current Organisation Business Unit. Posting creator views still show who recorded ledger entries, which is separate from who sold the product.
Is the Prepaid Schedule an amortisation schedule?+
No. Balances are current values recorded on customer and vendor accounts, and prepayment transactions are listed separately. Transaction amounts are not added to the balances, and the latest 500 transactions in the period are shown.
Does Deferred Revenue post revenue recognition?+
No. It reads the recorded recognition allocations: total deferred, recognised to date and the remaining balance. Review each allocation’s status, periods and next recognition date.
How are burn and runway estimated?+
Monthly burn is −Operating cash flow ÷ fiscal months covered, shown only when operating cash flow is negative. Runway is Cash and bank balances ÷ monthly burn. Both are estimates, not a funding forecast.
Can Axo change my numbers?+
No. Figures always come from the report. Axo opens reports, changes filters, comparisons and views, and explains what is on screen. On the Balance Sheet it can prepare a ledger-link correction for one entry, applied only after you confirm.
What is remembered between visits?+
Your filters, pinned reports and AI Functionality setting are remembered in your browser.
Where do I start for common tasks?+
  • Close the month: Trial Balance (debits = credits) › Balance Sheet Review › Income Statement and Cash Flow with Prior period.
  • Explain a balance: Balance Sheet › click the account › open the source record.
  • Chase overdue invoices: AR & AP Aging › Overdue receivables › Open AR detail.
  • Compare with last year: any statement › Comparison › Prior year.
  • Board pack: Executive Finance Overview and Investor Metrics › Export / Print › PDF.
Limits and error messages+
  • “A positive conversion rate is required”: add an active rate in Manage Currencies.
  • “The as-of date must be within the selected fiscal year”: choose dates inside it.
  • Balance Sheets over 2,000 entries build in the background. MRR & ARR supports up to 5,000 subscriptions, Budget up to 2,000 plans.
  • For support, send the company, year, dates, currency, comparison, the exact message and an Excel export.
